AVI50222 - DIPLOMA OF AVIATION
(COMMERCIAL PILOT LICENCE)

This qualification reflects the roles of flight crew personnel performing normal and emergency commercial pilot duties in support of commercial or Defence aviation flight operations. Flight crew duties include applying technical and non-technical aviation skills and knowledge to a wide range of air transport operations, including passenger, charter and cargo operations. Individuals working at this level will apply knowledge and skills to demonstrate autonomy, judgement and defined responsibility in known or changing contexts and within broad but established parameters. This qualification forms some of the requirements for certification as a commercial pilot by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) as directed by Civil Aviation Safety Regulation (CASR) Part 61 Flight crew licensing. People seeking certification should check these requirements with CASA.

Entry Requirements:

To ensure the quality training outcomes, all candidates need to demonstrate sufficient academic capability to undertake advanced diploma level studies. These requirements are as following:

Domestic Students

  • Completion of Year 12 or demonstrated of relevant industry experience

  • Successful completion of Pal Education’s LLN test

  • Students must be aged 18 or older

  • Valid Class 1 Aviation Medical as per Civil Aviation Safety Regulation Part 61.415 (1) (a).

  • A Valid Aviation Reference Number (ARN)

  • A Valid ASIC (requires a police check) for entry to a controlled airport

 

International Students (Academic)

  • Completion of Year 12 or demonstrated of relevant industry experience

  • Completion of higher secondary school or A levels qualification oversea

  • Successful completion of Pal Education’s LLN test

  • Students must be aged 18 or older

 

Medical Conditions:

  • Valid Class 1 Aviation Medical as per Civil Aviation Safety Regulation Part 61.415 (1) (a).

 

International Students (English Language Proficiency)

  • IELTS (Academic) test score 5.5 band overall or

  • TOEFL iBT test Score of 46 or

  • PTE Academic Test score of 42 or

  • Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) 162 or

  • OET Pass Grade B or

  • Level 4 Aviation English Assessment-ELP or

  • IELTS Test score of 5 or equivalent + at least 10 weeks ELICOS courses with recognized institute

  • IELTS Test score of 4.5 or equivalent + at least 20 weeks ELICOS course with recognized institute

 

Students may be exempted from English Language Proficiency requirements if any of following conditions satisfied:

1. Minimum 5 years study in an English-speaking country

2. At least 6 months of a certificate IV level courses (or above) in an Australian Registered Training Organization/ Institute

3. An English Foundation courses in a recognized institute

 

Please Note: students will need to satisfy the language requirements for International student Visa application (Department of Home Affairs) www.homeaffeirs.gov.au

 

Course Delivery Mode:

The course will be delivered in classroom face-to-face Mode for aviation theory and aircraft practices (in various Aircraft Models) by using various delivery methods and training resources.

 

COVID-19 Response:

To comply with COVID-19 instructions of Department of Health, Western Australia, Pal Education may adopt online distance E-learning with appropriate e-learning platform.

There is no workplace training involved.

 

Course Structure:

The AVI50222 Diploma of Aviation (Commercial Pilot Licence-Aeroplane) consists of 29 units, which makes 28 Core unit and 1 elective units in this qualification

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Assessment (Competency-based Assessments):

Assessment Tasks may include various theory, aircraft practical assessments and observation presentation.

Training room with date projector, power point slides, handouts, computers with internet, learners manual, assessment tools, online resource library, periodical publication, assessment plan and mapping, session plans, white board and markers, CD/DVD player, video recorder/camera, audio equipment.

 

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)/ Credit Transfer:

Pal Education has a recognition of prior learning (RPL) process in place for students who wish to have their prior skills, knowledge, experience and education formally recognised. All students enrolling in the course are entitled to apply for recognition of prior learning (RPL) or credit transfer. 

 

RPL allows the student to be recognised for their skills and knowledge gained from previous study or work experience without repeating the training.

Credit Transfer provides the student with agreed and consistent credit outcomes for components of a qualification based on identified equivalence in content and learning outcomes between matched qualifications. Students will be exempted from the relevant unit of competency who are awarded credit Transfer. Students must submit a verified Certificate or Statement of Attainment issues by RTO for formal recognition.

Pathway To Advanced Diploma:

After successful completion of AVI50222, students may continue their AVI60219 advanced diploma in aviation (Pilot in Command). For detailed course information, please contact with qualified RTO for more detailed information.

Student Support:

LLN Support in Pal Education:

The term of LLN refer to learning, reading, writing, oral communication and numeracy five core skills identified by the Australian Core Skill Framework (ACSF) as the essential skills for individuals to hold to participate workplace. Students required to take LLN Assessments to meet admission requirements.

Student will access to qualified LLN trainer and assessor in Pal Education.
